It's easy to assume that everyone is "wired" these days. We can't forget that there are many who still are not, either by choice, by necessity, or because the cyberworld still seems a mysterious and sometimes frightening place. Whatever the reason, it can make things difficult, as you point out. KRL does make it possible for anyone to tap into the web. And the click! program will help anyone who wants an email account to set one up, whether or not they have a computer at home. I've seen letters to the local media espousing the view that libraries should stick to being "books on a shelf."
